The primary goal of Main Street Biloxi is
the preservation and revitalization of the Main Street
district, an area that extends from Porter Avenue at the
Historic Biloxi Lighthouse to Bellman Street at the historic
Church of the Redeemer, and from Highway 90 to the Railroad on
Esters Blvd.
This year’s ornament celebrates the
preservation of one of the few historic coastal houses not
destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Beyond providing office and
work space for Main Street Biloxi to replace space lost to
Katrina, the Bond-Grant House will provide function and event
space for the community if fundraising is sufficient to
underwrite the required renovation. The first phase of
renovation required a move across the street, finished in March
2006.
