Sandy and her husband lost their
60-year-old house, her art studio and two cars to the
hurricane. They are currently living in a FEMA trailer and
Sandy is making art — passionately — in a 3’
x 3’ work area.
More of Sandy Ford’s artwork can be
seen at Katrina Artists and Southern Artists. Her artwork is available for purchase
at Art House in Ocean Springs, MS; Magnolia
Framing & Art Gallery;
La font Inn; Community Gardens in Pascagoula, MS; Eastern Shore Art Center; and the Foley Performing Arts Center.
A member and past president of Singing
River Art Association in Pascagoula, MS, Sandy is also a member
of other art associations in Alabama, Louisiana and
Mississippi.

Sandy graduated with honors from Ohio
University Athens, Ohio, with a degree in Interior Design. She
ran a successful design business and was an ASID member until
she decided to become a "sea gypsy" and world
traveler sailing the high seas. After twelve years sailing
around the world, Sandy and her husband, Jim, settled in
Pascagoula, Mississippi.
A most astonishing reward of
art-making for Sandy is people visiting the world she has
created, and adopting a piece as their own.
“Some days,” Sandy says with
a chuckle, “I could just die from an overdose of
satisfaction.”
